On February 4 and 5 we organized the second edition of the Open Source Jam together with Interacso. An event based on the contribution to the development of free software, aimed at developers with knowledge, at least basic, in JavaScript or Typescript, two of the main programming languages.
The second edition of this event was held at our offices in Alicante, where a total of 44 participants attended, divided into 9 high-level groups and with different profiles. These teams, throughout the weekend, were solving and presenting different open source tasks, and finally, the jury made up of Óscar del Río, founder and CEO of Interacso; Rubén Sarrio, Head of Interacso Tech; On behalf of Teralco, Javier Cantoral, our corporate president, together with Iván Navarro, Tech Lead at Teralco Group, named the “Bug Buster” team the winner, who provided great and varied solutions. In addition, a special prize was given to a team of students who came from the Poeta Paco Mollá Vocational Training cycle in Computer Science to learn first-hand about the reality of the sector in which they are immersing themselves.
The choice was not easy, and it is that in order to opt for one, they had to assess the content of the selected proposal, the way to solve it, the quality time they invested and the group collaboration of the team.
Without a doubt, they were very intense days where we shared a lot of knowledge about technology and innovation and we enjoyed seeing so much effort and commitment from the participants.
For our part, we will continue to bet on this type of initiatives that promote and boost the potential in the digital sector. Without going any further, in this Jam, they were able to collaborate with large and small projects, meet and make contacts with professionals in the technological world and also team up and enjoy what they like to do the most.
Collaborating with companies like Interacso that have similar purposes and a similar philosophy is always a pleasure. Thanks also to all of you who caught the bug and were interested and attended the event.
